The television looses sound intermittently. At breakfast in the main house, it feels like you are invading on someone's home. Hard toast, ant in my fruit bowl, dog running around in the kitchen. Definitely was not expected, although the owners did try. Had a good stay at the guest house. It was neat, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were tasty and staff were very friendly. You do not feel as if you are intruding on someone and are free to do your own thing. Wifi was quick but did disconnect every now and then.
Only negative was that I do not think that the room size was as per advertised. It seemed smaller. Great bed and breakfast.

Convenient for us to walk to the Summerstrand and sea front of Port Elizabeth. Great owners who were full of personality, kindness and and thoughtfulness. Cooked breakfast was delicious with always an offer of home made pancakes!!!!

Helped us with my error of booking one night too few! And they let us stay an extra night. This was such a wonderful surprise. A fabulous guesthouse, more like a hotel in fact. Very welcoming staff, wonderful rooms, and the most amazing breakfast. Probably the best during our whole stay in South Africa.

The staff were really friendly and the owner seems to keep a close and watchful eye on proceedings, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

One of the best features of this hotel is the enclosed and secure parking on the hotel premises. Would definitely stay there again. We stayed in the poolside room- it was beautifully appointed, incredibly quiet and couldn't have asked for a more comfortable place to hang our hats for 3 days. The breakfast room every morning was laid out with the most incredible selection of fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, breads, and the staff couldn't have been more attentive and accommodating. Very highly recommended. Room we stayed in was very large and clean. The spa was excellent. He rooms were large, with a comfortable king bed and an amazing shower and bath combo. The rooms and hotel were kept clean throughout ur stay. The area felt very safe to walk around at all times of the day and night. The BoardWalk is around minutes walk away and then it's a further minutes to the Humewood restaurants, which is more the layout of PE rather than the hotels shortcomings. The restaurant at Isango is hit and miss. Dinner the first night was delicious and well presented.
Room service the following night and then dinner on our final night were both less than satisfactory. Perhaps a different chef. Staff were also very friendly, however there never seemed to be a bartender available for drinks by the pool and when calling reception at night or early mornings there were times when no one answered. We enjoyed a three night stay at Hacklewood Hill Country House and were delighted with our spacious room and bathroom. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive.
