BUT, this is the internet and can be read worldwide!!! I am finding that people, men and women are much more the same than different the world over, but in third world countries, the woman may not need the money for a new dress or designer purse, she may be supporting the whole impoverished family she came from, using what she has, what God gave her, brains, looks, and body.
And just as from the beginning of time, any woman can get laid and any man can get married, the game goes on. Few foreigners plan to get married to a foreign girl on their vacation, regardless of how long that stay is. And the girl, if she is of age, and not over-sheltered, will know it. However, she may be willing to play with you for awhile, and promote your illusion that she cares, if she has picked up intuitively that that is what you want, and women are very good at it!! Or maybe she is a competitive type, and you are a notch on her gun!
And this works both ways, for women too. My daughter spent a year in college in Japan and wanted to return because she felt so beautiful there, more so than in the USA. I still remember my brother coming back to California after a semester in college in Texas, bragging that the women in Texas were all so much better looking ie plastic surgery and lots of make-up, sexy clothes. So go, vacation, use people, but know that they are using you, too!! And if you do find a sheltered innocent, let loose in the world for the first time, be aware that your using her for your selfish desires will mature her into that that you were trying to avoid.
I never meant to write this post to talk about what men do in Medellin or how Colombia is known for the sex tourism industry. The fact of the matter is that this is the way things are in Colombia and especially in Medellin with the culture coming from the Pablo Escobar drug trade area, remember that Pablo Escobar loved young women and his wife was extremely young. I came to this site accidently, out of curiosity triggered by my cousin, who has a friend that lived in Medellin for a year, and talked of it, trying to get him to visit, although all I ever heard about was wonderful climate, beautiful place. I have known several people from Colombia, all living in California, dated a man that was half, grew up in Colombia until his teens, then back to California.

His mother was a very sweet, lovely person and a great cook, too. They sound like they think foreign countries and people are amusement parks, with games to be played and rides to be ridden. What I come away with, is nice climate or not, it is not a good place to be female, unless you are looking for plastic surgeions for an economical price.

My problem is my work is so busy. I am making more money than ever but dont have any extra time, I think I need to make some. It is understandable why some women will feel bad about this, they attended the I hate men classes in college. And since this philosophy guarantees unhappiness the practitioners want every one around to be just as unhappy. I guess they are jealous and want to spoil our enjoyment of life. Just ignore the unhappy sad sacks. As far a gold digging status seeking women, prostitutes by behavior, women looking for a meal ticket — they are common everywhere in the world, America very included.
The seed of truth falls on semi-fertile soil, only to be shriveled by the defense mechanisms of the self-deluded…. The writer of the truth is always discredited as being man-hating, ugly, or a raft of other negatives. If I was of that ilk, I would be saying that you all are ugly, impotent, and hate women, but I only think you are self-deluded. In the end, only respect for each other will lead to love and understanding, between different countries, different people, and men and women.
And that is what every relationship between anyone, man or woman, should be based on. Remember, as you leave North America, that you are no longer just a person, you are now a representative of where you came from, and possibly the only contact that some foreigner will ever have with that place.
I only ask that you respect yourself and others. I never asked that you stay home and have no fun. I have several parceras here in The U. But please, I love them like family and would die for any of them. They are not to be used for lustful pleasure or eye candy. They have hearts and souls and are some of the best people I know. Their love and sincerity is difficult to find in America. So take our eyes off their chests and legs and look into their eyes.

David I would have to agree with everything that you said here. One of the things that I am very happy about is how Colombia is emerging outside of the sex tourism which they are known for. There are a lot of unique things to see in Colombia and now that the economy is booming more people are going for more than just women. Second, If you do good with the ladies in the US you will probably do good here too. If not, u better have a fat wallet not unlike the US. If your an average middle aged man looking for a young hottie for marriage beware! I see it all the time an attractive Colombian woman with some fat old bald dude just bleeding him dry.
There are stunning women here especially Medellin but remember theres plenty of locals with good looks and cash too. So the tens are pretty much sewed up. I have a place here in Medellin I stay a few months out of the year and have a beautiful girlfriend whom I met here but it took a lot of time.
If you just want to take women to pound town I suggest hookers. If you really want to find a great local woman its the same game anywhere in the world win her heart and be realistic about what your really looking for. Gringos like me are not kings to all women but if you take the time to really know a Colombian woman and find she is loyal and sincere your set fellas because you will be here king.. In conclusion learn Spanish keep realistic goals in mind and weed out the blood suckers you can find the women of your dreams.

How they go about it in Colombia might be a little different, especially if it involves trying to speak in broken Spanish. The other thing is….. The other thing to keep in mind is that money and prostitution is a huge part of Medellin culture. A very high percentage of the women in that city will sleep with guys for money, and there are scores of older gringos who know this….. A ton of chicks need or want money for clothes, bills, phones, help with rent, you name it. I just arrived here only two weeks ago. One thing I find different, they dont have a problem with coming to your apartment for a first meeting.
