Not quite as advertized, but a comfortable sleep. We were traveling on I and had planned to stay in Baton Rouge for the evening before continuing on into Texas the next day. My companion is recovering from an accident to her leg, and needs to do water aerobics as a part of the rehabilitation; this property advertised "complimentary hot and healthy breakfast buffet [and] an indoor pool," and is located very convenient to I, so it seemed a perfect choice and we reserved it.
It is conveniently located, but when we arrived and checked in we were told the hot breakfast buffet was not offered due to the virus, and when we asked for directions to the pool we were told that it was also closed. The website did not mention this. I understand that the virus has caused inconvenience for everyone, but I would have expected the property to have made a notation on its website that the hot breakfast buffet was not being offered and the pool was closed explaining that it was due to the virus or that the site would have been otherwise modified to not offer the hot breakfast and the pool since they didn't plan on delivering them.
That seems only fair; if the pool had been closed due to construction, I'm sure there would have been a notation. Why mislead the public by promising something they did not intend to deliver? It was too late in the day and we were too tired to find someplace else, so we stayed anyway. I'm disappointed in Marriott to allow such a thing! In fairness, I must note that the bed was extremely comfortable, and we had a good night's sleep despite the fact my companion could not do her rehabilitation. Date of stay: July Rooms.
