We really enjoyed ourselves! Great facilities: restaurants, bars, pools, shops, money exchange etc. The roof top bar was particularly pleasant. Rooms had everything necessary and were comfortable. The lobby bar was a bit hit and miss: we stayed for 3 nights and the service ranged from extremely efficient to non-existent - I think it depended on who was working at the time, rather than how busy it was.

It was frequented by several scantily-clad young ladies who were looking for company, but their focus was wealthy Cubans and not tourists. My boyfriend and I stayed for a week from Feb 4 to Feb As always we enjoyed a clean hotel, beautiful pool and very friendly staff members. Special thank you to Yadira in Atencion al Cliente, she was so helpful and kind, we love her soooo much. Also I would like to mention the perfect and professional treatment from Guzman and the new Hotel Manager. I can't wait to visit again! All the best to the 1 Hotel in Santiago de Cuba. I am very to say, but I was very disappointed. Nice hotel, little bit away from the center. Nice rooms. Spacious, well equipped, clean, nice staff. Great breakfast, too. Fantastic swimming pool. I have never seen so many prostitutes, in one place, in my life. Dozens and dozens of beautiful young girls with really old guys, walking hand in hand, kissing on the pool.
I am not a saint nor moral police but it was really disgusting. Date of stay: February We are pleased to know you liked the rooms as well breakfast and the swimming pool area. You can't miss this hotel on the skyline - we drove here and it is very near the start of the motorway and has parking which is the main reason we needed to stay here. Our other hotel meant we would have had to park on the street which isnt advisable here - narrow streets and a lot of traffic needing to get down crowded streets.
Nice welcome from the staff and concierge and we had a really pleasant room with hot water - a rare treat on our holiday - only had 3 hot showers in 2 weeks. All the mod cons - slightly dated but thats ok it is Cuba but nicely maintained in other areas- we had 2 days to rest up and the swimming pool was a welcome treat.
I found it a bit unsavoury that older men had paid company in the form of very young ladies attending to their needs it was a tad on the sleazy side and surprised the hotel allowed this behaviour. Santiago itself is hot and crowded and full of fumes so its nice to get out of the city to escape the hustle and bustle - we walked in one day and it was quite a trek, took a taxi for 4cucs which was reasonable. Santiago itself was quite disappointing in comparison to Trinidad, Baracoa and Camaguey so I wouldn't have bothered coming here at all had we realised.
Found outside restaurants hard to come by so we ate in the hotel - bizarre system - you have to pay for the buffet at the reception - no idea what was going to be served at this buffet so we didnt bother and just ate in the Pizzeria - the last thing I want to eat on holiday but it did what it was supposed to do. I wasn't to enamoured with their attempt at home made spaghetti - it was a tad on the thick and chewy side. Hotel has its own Wifi cards you buy at reception for 3 cucs or you can use your Nauta Wifi cards on the computers only - they are free to use.
It has a nice roof top area to sit and drink on the 15th floor overlooking the city and an 80's throwback disco inside. Date of stay: March Rooms. Sleep Quality. We are very pleased to know that in general your stay at our hotel has been to your liking, That you had the opportunity to relax in our pool area and enjoy the beautiful view of the 15th floor terrace - bar, the evening show as well as the cocktails in that beautiful place.
It is a pity that you have not been able to taste the good cuisine of our Buffet Restaurant. We promise to evaluate the actual payment system, so as to make it easier to our guests. I stayed for one night and I'm thankful it was only one night. The only waitress who smiled at me was Annabelle and Rafael, everyone else looked miserable, no smiles nor did they make you feel welcome.
Popular Things to Do in Santiago de Cuba
Whoever is in charge of the floor or training people should really reassess. A couple of other guests weren't too happy with this as well. The rooms are ok, a bit outdated. However, the pools are lovely! The food wasn't the best but then again I guess you don't come to Cuba for the food. The issue was the manner in which I was approached was absolutely unacceptable. I have never been treated so poorly by a security guard. I'm extremely disappointed in the way he spoke to me, seeing as I'm staying in the hotel.
His aggressive tone and attitude was unnecessary. When I asked to speak to a manager, she apologized but I wanted an apology from him. It didn't happen.
