I especially recommend their steaks on hot plates which they serve in traditional restaurants and pizzerias - in fact I ate one of the best steaks I've had in a long time in a pseudo-Italian restaurant in Hamedan. Also try out the hidden gems, such as camel meat sandwiches in local sandwich parlors, falafel, baklava and so much more And most important, it has some of the nicest locals in any place ever. I don't know any person who didn't enjoy their Iran trip. I can only wholeheartedly recommend anyone to visit this warmhearted and welcoming country, despite all the negative media and political hysteria these days.

There are some booking sites that work in Iran though, such as Hostelworld. I think it's just for the reservation, and you will pay by cash or local debit card at the place. One Iranian site that always is supposed to work for hotel booking is 1stQuest, which also offers flight or bus bookings. I never used it though since it always worked out on the go. If you are not sure about the reservation, just ask at your current accomdation or host to help you book it for the next day - they will often be glad to help you. Other times I had no interest to book something in advance and I just showed up at a place even in such a laid-off place like Nayband Village.
Also this worked every time without problems. The only thing you must think of is that during high season at certain places the accomodation can be full, but that's it. You will see, it will be easy and people will always be happy you're coming to visit them. Thank you about your reply.

Like I am in Terhan and want to go tomorrow to Isfahan, is it easy to find those tickets? Yes, as I wrote, booking transporation tickets is simple too. I only used 1stQuest for a flight from Shiraz to Tabriz, which worked very quick and flawlessly, but for nothing else.
As alternative you can ask a local or the person at the current accomodation to book the ticket for you at locals sites such as alibaba. You can then get a QR code or booking confirmation which you can show at the station.

Or you can simply just show up at the bus station and buy a ticket on the go. I did this several times in Iran and I always found a ride. I found that hooking up with transport in Iran is always very easy and transport routes always super busy and frequented. I have no idea about trains since I never used them, but on some famous routes you may reserve them 2 days in advance from what I heard. A site which may help you is Seat I used that for many other countries as well, and there's a good amount of valuable info there.

I'm thinking of skipping Kashan and spending 2 nights in Isfahan instead of 3 in order to get to the Kaluts. Do you think it is worth it? I think I listed my personal highlights in the "The Good" section in my first post. I think I would add Kaluts to the highlights as well, but because of the summer season and the according heat it was not possible to wild camp in the desert since the sand is still too hot even during the night.
I think it depends which season you wanna go - if you go there during spring or autumn, you have good chances to camp in the Kaluts desert which many people recommend me a lot. From Kerman and from Shahdad the oasis-like town nearest to the Kaluts desert you have a lot touring possibilities and people who may help you with that.
Apart from that it's hard for me to recommend you either Kashan or Isfahan, since everybody's tastes are different. I absolutely loved Kashan because of the Old Quarters, the absolutely stunning architecture, the very special oriental vibe and the surrounding areas to daytrip. Isfahan on the other hand is good because of social activities and maybe the major landmarks such as Imam Square or the famous bridges.
Personally I prefered Kashan, but I think you should do some research about the landmarks which one would be better for you. For me it's like comparing apples to oranges. If you still want to go to Kaluts, just be aware that from Isfahan it's about a 7 hours bus ride to Kerman, and maybe another 2 hours by car until the actual Kaluts Desert, meaning that it's a complete day of travel.
