Since from routes from UK Google usually shows the options with crossing German-Polish borders by E36 and E40 as basically comparable alternatives, you should at all costs choose E40 instead of E36 if Google presents you this choice :D You can freely return back towards Germany by E36 though if you want to see a different route, as the west-bound direction of E36 is already new.
